Implantation of 6 dental implants. Clinical case
Missing teeth in the distal areas of the lower jaw, inability to chew food, aesthetic defects
Partial adentia, terminal defects of the lower jaw, horizontal atrophy of the lower jaw
Placement of 6 i-system implants without bone grafting, followed by implant-supported prosthetics
3 months
A 55-year-old woman came to our clinic. She had previously consulted other clinics where bone grafting was recommended to increase the width of the lower jaw at the planned implant sites.
The estimated rehabilitation period with that treatment option would have been 1 year, which was unacceptable for the patient.
We proposed implantation with narrow implants of the i-system. In this case, there was no need for a preliminary bone-splitting surgery, and the rehabilitation period would be 3 months.
Consultation with a dental surgeon for diagnosis and treatment planning.
After performing an OPG (dental X-ray) and CT scan, adentia of the distal areas of the lower jaw was detected.
Our surgeon performed the operation for simultaneous placement of 6 implants of the plateau system by i-system (Switzerland) in 2 zones. Postoperative monitoring and rehabilitation measures were provided.
The operation took 1 hour. The result can be seen on the follow-up X-ray: the implants are visible in the areas of missing teeth.
