Installation of 10 implants. Clinical case
Unaesthetic appearance of gums, bleeding of the mucous membrane, and bad breath
Toxic hypertrophic gingivitis
Laser correction of the mucous membrane, implantation of 10 i-system implants, dental prosthetics
Approximately 3 months
A 48-year-old woman came to our clinic with edentulism in the distal areas of the lower and upper jaws (with missing teeth in the lateral areas of the upper and lower jaws).
Additionally, plastic crowns had been previously placed on the frontal group of teeth, which caused toxic hypertrophic gingivitis (active inflammation and hypertrophy of the mucosa).
Toxic gingivitis, in turn, caused such complications as: swelling of the gums, bad breath, and profuse gum bleeding.
Consultation with a dental surgeon to establish a diagnosis and create a treatment plan.
Plastic crowns placed on the frontal group of teeth had caused toxic hypertrophic gingivitis (active inflammation and hypertrophy of the mucosa).
A gingivotomy was performed (plastic surgery of the gum mucosa to remove hypertrophy). Correction of the hypertrophied mucosa was carried out using a diode laser, followed by post-operative examination and rehabilitation measures.
Rehabilitation period: 18 days.
The result of the surgery can be seen in the photograph.
After the gums healed, we performed an operation to implant 10 dental implants of the “Plato” system by i-system (Switzerland). The implants were placed in the areas of missing teeth (6 in the upper jaw and 4 in the lower).
The rehabilitation period after implantation was 2 months.
Two months after the dental implantation, total dental prosthetics with zirconium dioxide crowns was performed.
As a result, the patient received functional and aesthetically pleasing teeth.
