A 40-year-old man living outside of Ukraine contacted us by email requesting a consultation and an approximate treatment plan. He had complaints about missing teeth and unsatisfactory dental aesthetics, and he also explained that after having teeth extracted, his bite had noticeably changed.
He had previously consulted at another clinic where they proposed extracting all teeth and replacing them with 12 implants using bone grafting material (sinus lift surgery). This treatment plan did not suit him, so he came to us seeking an alternative solution.
Consultation with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a prosthodontist to establish a diagnosis and create a treatment plan.
Partial adentia and pathological wear of all teeth were identified. A treatment plan was developed.
In the first stage, professional hygiene, oral cavity sanitation, and endodontic treatment of teeth were performed. Control diagnostic models were made, and laboratory modeling of the future teeth was carried out taking into account the specifics of bite dysfunction.

In the second stage, the oral surgeon installed 10 I-system implants, which made it possible to avoid any bone grafting surgeries.
Then the prosthodontist prepared the teeth and placed temporary prosthetics, and healing abutments were installed. Impressions were taken for the fabrication of permanent prosthetic constructions.

The final stage was the fabrication and placement of permanent prosthetics with crowns made of pressed ceramics and zirconium dioxide.
In this case, we used only one 4-unit bridge on implants in the left upper jaw area, due to the inability to place more implants in that location. The other 24 crowns are freestanding, which is completely physiological and fully restored the function and aesthetics of the patient’s bite and smile.
