Prosthetics on 6 implants. Clinical case
Missing teeth, inability to chew food, aesthetic defects
Partial edentulism, distal edentulous spans on the lower jaw, missing teeth on the upper jaw, atrophy of the right upper jaw
Placement of 6 i-system dental implants without bone grafting. Subsequent implant-supported prosthetics
3 months
A 65-year-old woman came to our clinic. She had previously visited doctors at 4 other clinics, where she was offered bone grafting (bone augmentation, sinus lift) followed by dental implantation. The estimated recovery time with that treatment option would have been 1.5 years, which was unacceptable for the patient.
We proposed implantation with short implants of the i-system plateau system. In this case, there was no need for a sinus lift, and the recovery period was only 3 months.
Surgical dentistry consultation to establish the diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
A problem was identified — odontogenic sinusitis. Treatment of odontogenic sinusitis would be performed after the main implant placement procedures.
The implantation surgery itself. Our surgeon (Dr. Osadchyi) performed the simultaneous placement of 6 dental implants in all 3 zones.
The surgery took 1.5 hours.
Two months after the implantation surgery, we confirmed good implant integration and then placed healing abutments.
One week after placing the healing abutments, it was time for the prosthetic stage. Impressions were taken, and 8 crowns were fabricated and installed.
As a result, the patient received functional and aesthetically attractive teeth.
